Despite having mainly rocky beaches, there are sime beautiful sandy beaches found on Malta!

Golden Bay

Golden Bay is one of the most popular beaches in Malta. Golden Bay is set in a naturally beautiful area; it offers cafés and restaurants, sun bed and umbrella services, and plenty of water sport activities. You might even be able to see an amazing sunset which makes it a great spot for evening barbecues. Take a look at the picture above, isn’t that a pretty sight for a barbecue?

Mellieha Bay

Mellieha Bay is the largest sandy beach in Malta. It is located in the northern part of Malta. The bay is divides into three separate beaches, devided by short rocky sections. The first beach is the calmest and popular by people who want to have a relaxed day at the beach, the middle beach is the widest and longest beach with all the activities and is also the most popular one. The last bay on the right hand side offers a more quiet and more relaxing atmosphere.

Ghajn Tuffieha Bay

Ghajn Tuffieha Bay is at walking distance fromGolden Bay.  Ghajn Tuffieha can only be reached by a flight of 180 steps and is much more quiet than its neighbour. Come for the unspoilt rural atmosphere and a stretch of fine sand, then stay for the sunsets, looking due west across the waves. The beach is managed by the Gaia Foundation, a local environmental body.
